Pigs In A Blanket!!
By The Chef | April 26, 2007
Kate had a cooking day at Pre-school the other day. I wouldn’t have paid too much attention to it–but we were in charge of bringing the items needed. They were making their own Pigs In A Blanket. It’s a favorite at our house–except for Daniel –who will moan and complain from beginning to end. Once the finished Piggy is on his plate with his potato chips–all is forgotten as he enjoys his yummy dinner!!
I thought it was a great idea to let the kids make their own. I had purchased the cheap ’store brand’ crescent rolls the last time we made them for the family–and they were tiny and cheap and basically — crap. So for the class we bought the Pillsbury Big and Flaky. That way I was sure that their little Ballpark weeny would be completely snuggled in his blanket!
Kate came out of class covered in mustard and catsup. She looked really cute, and she had had so much fun. From now on–I think we’ll let the kids make their own dinner–and I’ll just handle the oven portion of it! Heck, if a class of 4 year olds can make ‘em, I think a 9 and 7 year old should be fine!!

That looks so good! My mom would make food like that. I am going to have to call her up and see if she can ship me some!
